National Register
In the first half of 2001, a graduate level public history class from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, under the direction of Dr. Andrew Kirk, took as a class project the preparation and coordination of the application to place the restored Goffs Schoolhouse on the National Register of Historic Places. On 3 August 2001 at a formal meeting held on the Queen Mary, the California Historic Resources Commission voted unanimously to place the Goffs Schoolhouse on the State Register of Historic Resources and to forward the application for final approval to the Keeper of the National Register. On 11 October 2001 the Goffs Schoolhouse was officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the Department of the Interior. This milestone has been commemorated with a bronze plaque posted at the Schoolhouse entrance.
